March
9,
2009. SOAPe Platinum v3.0 Release
We are pleased to
announce the release of SOAPe Platinum v4.0. This release contains an
updated Palpation chart that now meets Medicare's newly adopted P.A.R.T.
documentation system. The P.A.R.T. documentation system for Medicare has
been a topic of much concern and discussion among chiropractors. Recall
that the subluxation may be documented by one of two methods: x-ray or
physical examination, and that if the latter is used, it must be
documented according to the P.A.R.T. system. The four components of
P.A.R.T. are PAIN/TENDERNESS, ASYMMETRY/MISALIGNMENT, ABNORMAL ROM, and
TISSUE/TONE CHANGES. CMS requires that at least two of the four components
must be documented, and at least one of A or R. ICD-9 codes have also been
updated in this version.
